Abstract:

Most theorists of architecture believe that culture is one of the factors influencing home design. The spatial configuration of a house in an area can support or disrupt the culture of the inhabitants. Hence, the shape of the house in indigenous architecture is an expression of understanding the content of human life. The necessity of this research is explained based on the dimensions of family and social life. The houses of the Zandieh and Qajar dynasties of Shiraz, which are mostly located in the Sang-e Siah neighborhood, form the statistical population of this research which is of a diverse kind. The aim of this study is to read the spatial organization of the native houses of the old texture of Shiraz accomplished by Space Syntax and the graphical analytical analysis (SPSS) Software. Based on the logical arguments gained from the little information obtained from the graphs output of the Ucl Depth Map Software, the strengths and weaknesses of the native houses were examined. By analyzing the attained information, a suitable model was extracted in terms of socio-cultural concepts involving the ancient elements. According to the results of the research, by combining the model obtained from this research with modern residential replicas, an innovative prototype can be presented for the imminent houses of the historical cities of Iran. Research objectives 1. Investigating the organization of the native houses of the old texture of Shiraz city 2. Explaining a suitable model for contemporary housing based on the ancient analysis of the models of Zandieh and Qajar period houses in Shiraz. Research question 1. How has culture (residential and social) affected the formation of the Space Organization of Shiraz Houses (Zandieh and Qajar)? 2. What is the role of architects and planners in the present age in perpetuating the socio-cultural values of indigenous environments? To what extent are design Software involved in this area?

Abstract:

Fast computers and powerful data management & graphk Software's are indispensable elements of precision farming technology. Activities like yield monitoring and on the go soil sampling provide vast amount of data on the variation in crop and soil conditions throughout the field. The collected data must be processed and reduced into Maps to provide serviceable information. The objectives of this study were to develop a Software for analyzing the compaction data of a soil excavator and convert it into a colored Map. A program was written in C++ language with about 2000 lines and it was evaluated by a simulation method. For testing the Software, a force measuring hydro-electronic transducer was designed and fabrkated. By exciting the transducer its output signals were sent to the Software which was loaded on a Pentium Pc. Execution of each part of the program follows a flow chart which starts by an icon identifier on the main display. On line progress of the compaction Map was visible during the operation period of the transducer. After conduction of each test and making the selevant file, tables of data and functional plot of compaction versus Depth at any soil profile is accessible. Results showed that with high confidence, this Software could be conjugated on soil compaction scanning. Its facilities seem to be valuable enough to make it as a geographical information system (GIS) Software.

Abstract:

The structure of the mosque is a prominent and explicit manifestation of art in the spiritual and sacred realm which should provide the ground for the transcendence of humans from the lowest to the highest level of existence. The architecture of the mosque, as the bearer of such a collection, if it wants to be in harmony with this ascension and return, must have houses and a hierarchy corresponding to what rules the universe. Many scholars believe that this feature is derived from the wisdom of Iranian-Islamic architecture, so the present article seeks to answer the question that, what is the connection between the values and concepts of Iranian-Islamic wisdom and the spatial arrangement in the architecture of traditional and contemporary mosques? For this purpose, the method of this research is a combination. In the first step, through qualitative research method and descriptive-analytical, first by collecting information through library and documentary studies, the characteristics of the Iranian mosque and the manifested principles of wisdom in Iranian architecture are identified and finally with an analytical approach, the index, the manifestations of these principles have been laid down in Iranian architecture. In the second part of the research, which is based on the method of quantitative research, after conducting field observations and preparing a case Map of the sample, first by examining the plans of mosques with the help of specialized Software "Space Syntax " (Ucl Depth Map), to analyze Spatial layout indicators and their relationship with the principles of Iranian-Islamic wisdom and at the end, using reasoning and interpretation, spatial layout in the architecture of traditional and contemporary mosques, a case study of Khorasan Razavi was evaluated and finally the results were presented. Since the main essence of architecture is space, in the contemporary period, various methods have been used to analyze the architectural space, including formal, historical and climatic methods. One of the methods that was born to understand the invisible structures and systems behind the architectural forms and phenomena is the "Space Syntax" method, which was based on the studies of Christopher Alexander and Philip Stedman. This method has a thematic and conceptual similarity to the way words are classified in the literature. As in linguistics, the grammar rules of law and logic show how words are arranged side by side to express a specific meaning, Hillier argues, using the method of spatial arrangement, the logic of putting spaces together is discovered together or spatial arrangements resulting from social relations. According to this view, the meaning of environment is derived from its spatial organizational structure and the spatial structure of an environment has an important role in promoting some social behaviors compared to other behaviors due to the products of society and proven roles. The results of this study indicate that "space syntax" is an effective method in studying the relationship between wisdom and spatial arrangement in the architecture of Iranian mosques and the principles of Iranian-Islamic wisdom (unity in plurality, the journey from the outside to the inside) in a single place. Single spaces of mosques and determining the relationship of each space with other spaces have a direct impact and this decisive role is much more evident in traditional mosques than contemporary mosques.

Abstract:

Background and Objectives: The channels and rivers confluence phenomenon is the issue which occure in the irrigation and drainage channels, superficial water accumulative channels, water and waste water refinery and rivers. The aim of this research is to investigate the effect of several installed submerged vanes in tributary channel on controlling and decreasing the erosion at 90 degrees confluence of channels, detecting the best situation and vanes orders by using the simulation Software. Materials and Methods: In this research, Flow-3D flow simulation Software was used to model the various states of submerged vanes at 90-degree channels confluence. In order to verify the results, the data from the experiments carried out in the laboratory of the civil engineering department of Sharif University of Technology have been used. The experimental model consists of a main channel with a length of 12 meters and a width of 40 cm and a tributary channel of 3 meters in length, the width of the tributary channel is equal to the main channel. The tributary channel is located 6. 35 meters from the beginning of the main channel and is connected to the main channel at a 90-degree angle. The using equations were Navier-Stokes and continuity equations for modeling incompressible flows. For modeling turbulence, the k-w equation model was used. Results: The results of this study showed that Software simulation can accurately estimate the scour pattern. So the difference between the maximum Depth of scour of numerical and laboratory models in confluence was 1. 4%. Also few modeling were done with angles, dimensions and different locations of vanes to calculate the best conditions of vanes to decrease the Depth of scour in channels confluence. The results showed that it is possible to decrease the scour hole dimensions, considering that submerged vanes were installed in the 60 degree (in respect to longitudinal axis of channel), the ratio of the length of the submerged vanes to the channel width was equal to 0. 25, the longitudinal spacing of the submerged vanes was half the width of the channel, the spacing of the submerged vanes from each other was 0. 375 of the channel width and the distance between the installation of the submerged vanes from the intersection of 0. 25 to 0. 375 was the width of the channel; submerged vanes effectively reduce the maximum Depth of scour hole at the junction of two channels with a 90 degree angle. Conclusion: The final result of this study shows that if submerged vanes are installed in an appropriate position with optimal dimension in the tributary channel, they can reduce the maximum Depth of the scour hole at channel confluences. In this study, the maximum scour Depth was reduced by 21% submerged vanes compared to the non submerged vanes.

Abstract:

Scouring is one of the most important factors in the destruction of bridge piers. One of the ways to reduce scouring Depth is to use a slot in the bridge pier. In this research, the Flow 3D model was used to simulate the effect of a slot with the same dimensions in two positions parallel to the bed and close to the water surface. The tests were performed at two relative speeds of 0.87 and 0.92. Uniform and non-cohesive bed sediments with a geometric standard deviation of 1.4 and an average diameter of 1 mm were used. The results showed that the slot created in the pier of the bridge weakens the eddies around the pier and is effective in reducing scour Depth. The slot close to the surface, on average, about 6%, and the slot parallel to the bed, about 26%, are effective in reducing the maximum scour Depth compared to the control pier. Also, with the increase of Froud number from 0.376 to 0.380, scour Depth has increased by 11% on average.

Abstract:

The extend of the internet across the world has increased cyber-attacks and threats. One of the most significant threats includes denial-of-service (DoS) which causes the server or network not to be able to serve. This attack can be done by distributed nodes in the network as if the nodes collaborated. This attack is called distributed denial-of-service (DDoS). There is offered a novel architecture for the future networks to make them more agile, programmable and flexible. This architecture is called Software defined network (SDN) that the main idea is data and control network flows separation. This architecture allows the network administrator to resist DDoS attacks in the centralized controller. The main issue is to detect DDoS flows in the controller. In this paper, the Self-Organizing Map (SOM) method and Learning Vector Quantization (LVQ) are used for DDoS attack detection in SDN with distributed architecture in the control layer. To evaluate the proposed model, we use a labelled data set to prove the proposed model that has improved the DDoS attack flow detection by 99. 56%. This research can be used by the researchers working on SDN-based DDoS attack detection improvement.

Background: Noise Mapping in industry can be useful to assess the risks of harmful noise, or to monitor noise in machine rooms. Using GIS -based Software for plotting noise Maps in an indoor noisy work environment can be helpful for occupational hygienists to monitor noise pollution. Methods: This study was carried out in a noisy packaging unit of a food industry in Ghazvin industrial zone, to evaluate noise levels by GIS technique. For this reason the floor of packaging unit was divided into squares of 2×2 meters and the center of each square was marked as a measurement station based on NIOSH method. The sound pressure level in each station was measured and then the measurement values were imported into Arc GIS Software to plot noise Map.Results: Unlike the current method, the noise Maps generated by GIS technique are consistent with the nature of sound propagation. Conclusion: This study showed that for an indoor work environment, the applicati on of GIS technology rendering the assessment of noise levels in the form of noise Maps, is more realistic and more accurate than the routine method which is now being used by the occupational hygienists.
